The Dacia Duster will be available to pre-order online with a deposit of just £100 from June. The budget brand, which is due to officially launch in the UK in January 2013, will be accepting orders for the Duster SUV from 28 June.
The Duster will go on sale with a price tag below £10,000 for the two-wheel drive variant or less than £12,500 for the 4WD version. The Renault-owned firm will reveal specific pricing and specifications for its first UK model on the same day that advance orders will be taken, 28 June.
From that date, customers will be invited to ‘build’ their Duster via an online configurator before selecting a Dacia dealer to fulfil their order. Dacia cars will be sold out of selected Renault dealerships. The recommended retail price of the Duster SUV will also be guaranteed during the pre-order phase, which will expire in December.
The deposit strategy is part of Dacia’s ‘smart-buy’ concept, which aims to eliminate all unnecessary costs from its vehicles and the buying process to keep prices as low as possible.
First deliveries of the Dacia SUV will begin next January, and customers who have pre-ordered via the Dacia online system will be given priority.Follow @autocar
